"From 8 years old to 18 years old I shoveled snow, managed lemonade stands, sold graphic designs online, and even started my first clothing business. I then fell in love with videography & photography, but by that point it was time to go to college. I chose to go to a local community college for a few reasons. First, so I could still work my pizza delivery job. Second, so I could still take videos and photos for clients (as I was a freelanced creator). And third, so I could run and manage my clothing brand. Within the first two weeks of college my grandpa passed away… I was looking at him in his casket and I said to myself, "I can die tomorrow and my dreams will not have been fulfilled." From that moment forward, my mission was to do everything in my power to not waste a second without growing mentally, physically, spiritually, and financially. In order to act on that desire I needed to provide value in a market that needed my skills, and if I didn't have the skills, I knew I would have to learn them. This same month was the first time my clothing brand netted $4,000 - the most I had ever made at the time, but I ended up closing the business, dropping out of college, and turning my videography & photography hobby into a real business to help local businesses grow their social media presence. Within the matter of 6 months I had 20 clients and bought my first office at 19 years old with my team of 4 guys. In the matter of a couple of months one of my clients reached out to me and exclaimed, "I don’t know what to do for getting leads! Should I use Angie's List, Home Advisor, a marketing company or, SEO? They all seem to drain my wallet with little to no results. Can you help me with this?" I said yes, thinking it would be a walk in the park... Well, it ended up being much more difficult than I expected. We still yielded some results for the client, but not as effectively as we wanted to. I knew there was a want and need for my help in the construction space, so I went all in and hired a full time advertising specialist. We spent all of our time trying to master lead volume (thinking that was the only metric that mattered). We quickly learned that lead quality is just as, if not more important as lead volume, and that's when we dove into learning how to effectively qualify our client's leads. After the lead quality increased, we were stuck trying to figure which stage of the sales process the leads were in, and it was becoming increasingly stressful. This led us to investing into a sales and marketing CRM that ultimately organized the entire sales process and tremendously increased our clients conversions. We now work with 25+ contractors and have a team of 10 employees between the social media brand and paid advertising branch for contractors."
